The other main key of printing in flexible and elastic filaments is the Hotend. Recreus team has redesigned the current hotends to improve the speed, reliability and print quality.
Our hotend has short length, why? With a short length we reduce the length between the drive gear and nozzle tip, reducing this length we achieve less compression length along the filament and it means that we have more thrust and extrusion control. A short hotend has less inertia movements comparing with long hotends reducing the micro movements and vibrations, between the tip of the nozzle and barrel.
Replace showy heatsinks by the main extrusion block as heatsink helps us to reduce weight without compromising the heat dissipation properties of our hotend, obviously the extruder has a small cooling fan pointing to the barrel and extrusion aluminum block that keeps the hotend in the right thermal conditions. The wall thickness of the barrel where the ptfe liner is inserted is minimum 0.5mm, our goal is to reduce as much as we can the metal mass of the barrel, to reduce the heated mass hence the heatsink requirements.
